Many people ask me why I want to go on a mission and sacrifice time away from family, friends, and school. A scripture that has always been dear to my heart is Doctrine and Covenants 82:3, "For of him unto whom much is given, much is required." I would relish the opportunity to give back to the Lord. He has blessed my life in so many ways. My heart if filled with joy and gratitude. Because I have been given much I too must give. I cannot wait to serve the Lord with all my heart, might, mind, and strength. I will never be able to repay the Lord for everything he has done for me and has given me, but I can sure try. :) This church makes me so incredibly happy. I know it to be true and I know that it brings forth so many blessings. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that we have a living Prophet to guide us in these Latter days. I know that God is a merciful God and that he wants us to return back to him. I know that as we live righteously and fulfill the covenants we make, that we will be able to greet God with his arms wide open and hear him say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord" (Mathew 25:21). I am so excited to be able to help the people of Washington DC come unto Christ and teach the restored gospel to them. I love you all so much and cannot wait to see you in 18 months!
