Great Week!

Hello everybody!

Okay I'm just going to jump to the exciting news.... CARTER GOT BAPTIZED! WOOOH!!

It was such a lovely day. After her baptism, we went back to the bathroom with her for her to change and she just started to cry and told us she just felt so clean. It was such a tender moment. Carter has so much faith and is such a huge inspiration! She bore her testimony after and it was so amazing. She is so strong and is going to go so far in life. God guided her and it was such a huge blessing to be a part of her journey! Ah this made my whole life. Getting to witness this amazing step in her life! She got to be interviewed for her baptism by our mission president, and that was such a neat experience for her they connected so well! I am so grateful for all the members in the DC 2nd ward and for all their fellowship and support to Carter. It made all the difference in her conversion. I'll attach some pictures from the baptism! We took lots!

This week was a good week. I feel like the weeks are going by faster and faster and I don't like that haha. I wish I could just do another 18 months!! That would be so great. I love my mission with all my heart. I never knew the mission could change me so much as it has and I will be forever grateful for my mission and for the good and depressing experiences that I have had. Can sisters serve two years? That's the question I will forever have ;) anyway, we had a busy week full of exchanges and I treasured every last second. I got to go on exchanges with Sister Shin, a previous companion I had, and it was really cool to see her growth from when she first came out on the mission. She is so cute, we were out tracting, and we were talking to a man, and he got on a tangent and told us how he hated when his kids or anyone told him that "they can't" or that "it is too hard" or "they give up." He went off on how people need to try try try. Haha right after that, Sister Shin in her cute English said, "YEAH I like that and that is why we will not give up on you. We will try try try!" Haha the man's words backfired on him and it was really funny. He agreed to a return appointment, so that worked out haha! I was so proud of her and her boldness!

The mission is so great and I could go on and on about it but we have a packed day today! I love you all and am so grateful for all of your prayers and support. This mission has been the best thing that could have ever happened in my life. It kind of stinks, right when I finally think I got the hang of things, I reach the end of my mission.... ah I wish I could stay even longer but I am grateful for all that I have learned!

Have a good and safe week!
Love,
Sister Megan Elizabeth Freeman

CARTERS BAPTISM!!!!

President and Sister Johnson came!!:)

Lesson with Carter.

17 Months

Hello!!!!

This week was so great! We were able to see so many miracles and tender mercies from God. Being a missionary is the best thing ever! :) We had Zone Conference this week! It was so inspirational and revelatory! We learned a lot about love and obedience to God. It was really great! Sister Larson and I got to give a workshop about teaching to people's needs! It was fun getting to prepare for that!

Update on Carter: CARTER IS SO SOLID. She is so prepared and asked us if she could move her baptism up a week! SO she is getting baptized this Sunday!! We are so excited! It is going to be a lovely day. Ah I can't wait! She seriously makes up for everything. She brings so much joy and it is so incredible to be able to be a part of her growth. We meant to get a picture with her this week so you all would know what she looks like, but none of them turned out. But she is an angel and has such a bright future ahead of her.

The Why I Believe Fireside was yesterday!! It was exciting because Mary Clare, one of our recent converts, gave her testimony. It was the sweetest testimony ever and it truly came from her heart. Ah it was so good!

Something also that was really neat was Michael Bailey, one of my recent converts from the Gaithersburg YSA, said the closing prayer! It was a lovely meeting and was so fun to get to see everyone. Everyone has grown so much and It was so neat to see that growth.

Well I love you all and sorry this email is so short! I just wanted to end with my testimony! I know this gospel is for everyone. God's love is molded to fit everyone's needs and is waiting for us to grow closer to. I know that this gospel brings true joy that is eternal. I know that I can be with my family forever and that it is bound with God's love.

I know that it is through obedience that we grow closer to God. I love my Savior with all my heart and I have a testimony of the Atonement that further allows us to partake of God's love and change towards God.

Love you all!

Why I Believe with Mary Clare...

...and Michael!!

Hello!

Hey everybody!

This week was so great!! Here is an update on some of the people who we are working with!!

Carter: CARTER IS SO AMAZING. We had another lesson with her and she came to church again and loved it! Ah she is so incredible. Everything makes so much sense to her. She was telling us how this is filling her gap of emptiness and it is making her feel so good. She said the Book of Mormon has answered her prayers!! Ah she is so amazing! Her testimony has grown so much!! She is so excited for her baptism on April 1st! We might move it up a week! But she is doing great!

Mary Clare: She is doing so great!! In addition to her visiting teaching, she got a calling!!! She is a ward missionary and she has been so great at that! She brought one of her friends to the Visitors' Center, and her friend agreed to come to church!!!! She also texts all of our investigators and is such a great friend to them! AND here is the greatest news of all.... WE WENT TO THE TEMPLE AND DID BAPTISMS WITH HER THERE!! SHE EVEN DID FAMILY HISTORY WORK AND FOUND FAMILY NAMES TO DO! AH IT WAS SO COOL!!! It was a crazy but special experience for her! Right after we went to the recent convert temple trip, we went to the Visitors' Center because AL FOX WAS THERE!!!! Al Fox, for those who don't know, is also known as the tattooed Mormon and has a really neat conversion story and is super famous and has written a book about her story. It was super cool because Al Fox's blog and her book helped Mary Clare so much in her conversion! We have special connections ;) and got to bring Mary Clare up to meet Al Fox and it was the sweetest thing ever! Mary Clare bawled!! It was so sweet! It was a very good night!!

Luana: she is doing alright! She still has so much faith but is having a hard time with some commandments! Keep her in your prayers!!!!!!!!

We had a busy week of meetings, interviews, and more meetings but it was GREAT! Mark Luzvardi (head of all the Visitors' Centers around the world) came and trained all of the Visitors' Center sisters and it was really cool. He also came to our MLC and gave a really neat training to the mission leadership! He is an incredible man!

Okay to end, here is the highlight of all highlights.... drum roll...

BETTY AND HER HUSBAND GOT SEALED IN THE TEMPLE!!!! So for those who don't remember Betty, she came on to Mormon.org last January and requested a finding faith in Christ DVD. I sent the request to the local missionaries and kept in touch with her. She and her husband, Richard, got baptized shortly after that AND JUST LAST WEEK SHE AND HER HUSBAND WERE SEALED IN THE TEMPLE!!!!!!!! It was so exciting to hear! She said she would send pictures, so I will send them as soon as I get them! But it is just so sweet how Betty and her husband have come this far and made promises with each other and with God to stay faithful and to be together for time and all eternity. It is so powerful. On the phone she just kept saying how happy she was and how she felt the spirit so strongly!! I am so glad that families can be together forever!!

Love you all!

PS: We are supposed to get a huge snow storm tonight... 12 inches of snow!!!!!! CRAZY.

PSS: The Washington DC temple is closing down in March 2018 for renovations and some fixing up for two years. In 2020, it will open up again and they are going to do an open house to the public before they rededicate it!!  I am really excited for that! They are expecting millions of people to come! The Visitors' Center will stay open during that!! Haha all the VC sisters called dibs on helping out when it reopens haha! I'm super excited!

It was so sweet and a huge blessing!!

VC

Miracle.

Hey family and friends!
This week was super duper great!!:)

I will start out with a special miracle of all miracles we had this week. So we got an awesome Mormon.org referral show up in our Area Book. Her name is Carter and we gave her a call and she was SO HAPPY to hear from us. Missionaries contacted her over a year ago on the street and gave her a Mormon.org card and a Book of Mormon. Carter has moved over three times to different places within the past year but kept the Book of Mormon with her everywhere she went. Just last week Carter decided to go on the Mormon.org website and chatted with missionaries online and requested to be able to learn more! Turns out, she lives in our area and so the referral sent through to us!!!!!! We had a lesson with her this week and OH MY GOODNESS. SHE IS THE MOST PREPARED PERSON I HAVE EVER MET!!! She is so perfect. She accepted to be baptized on April 1st!!!!! She came to church on Sunday and had the best time ever! The ward all fellowshipped her so well and made her feel so welcome! She made so many friends!! After church she texted us and this is what she said in the text, "I've been praying and meditating for the past hour and have been blessed with a revelation of truth. I'm so hungry for this new truth and I can't wait to meet with you on Wednesday and can NOT wait for my baptism on April 1st." When Sister Larson and I read this text, WE WERE SO HAPPY! It was a huge miracle. I am so grateful for the missionaries that gave Carter the Mormon.org card a year ago! Carter is seriously amazing and I am so excited to meet with her this week!!:)

The YSA Ward is doing so great!! When we go over to have member meals, we have been trying really hard to get the members excited to do missionary work and Elder Ballard promised our mission when he came that if we taught one of the missionary discussions to the members when we go over, that we would see more success with the ward being involved in missionary work! So we have been doing this and GUESS WHAT? At church on Sunday we got FIVE member referrals!!  It was super great!

We got to go to the city today! We went to Fords Theatre where Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, we went to the Archives where they have the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and we went to the National Portrait Gallery, and we got to also go to the Natural History Museum (BEST MUSEUM EVER!).

Love you all!!
